Magnetic resonance‐guided high‐intensity focused ultrasound (MR‐HIFU) therapy of uterine fibroids effectively reduces both bleeding and bulk symptoms—A prospective single‐center 12‐month follow‐up study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Magnetic resonance‐guided high‐intensity focused ultrasound (MR‐HIFU) resulted in significant symptom reduction and improved quality of life in patients with symptomatic uterine fibroids and either bleeding or bulk symptoms. When successful, MR‐HIFU provides effective and rapid symptom relief for both symptom types.

Home telemonitoring in high‐risk pregnancies: A Finnish retrospective cohort study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.

Inter‐ and intra‐observer agreement of 2D and 3D transperineal ultrasound of pelvic floor hiatal measurements in the second stage of labor

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Assessment of the levator hiatal dimensions in the second stage of labor using transperineal ultrasound is feasible with good inter‐ and intra‐observer agreement. Intrapartum ultrasound can improve our understanding of variation in pelvic floor anatomy during childbirth.

An attempt to improve recognition of fetal acidemia by a remodeled intrapartum cardiotocography classification: A case–control study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Current CTG interpretation templates have shown low sensitivity or low specificity identifying fetuses with acidemia. This new interpretation template combined a high sensitivity with a high specificity. Validation on a new material is essential before considering clinical use.

CoolCuddle and Autonomic Regulation in Infants With Hypoxic‐Ischaemic Encephalopathy: An Intervention Study

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim We evaluated the impact of ‘CoolCuddle’, parental cuddling during therapeutic hypothermia intervention for hypoxic‐ischaemic encephalopathy, on heart rate variability (HRV). Methods In this prospective, single‐group, interventional study with repeated measures, we included infants ≥ 36 weeks' gestation undergoing hypothermia and CoolCuddle

A novel small animal ovariohysterectomy training model improves veterinary students' surgical times

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of a novel, low‐cost ovariohysterectomy (OVH) training model on surgical times recorded for final‐year veterinary students performing live canine and feline OVH. The training model provides focused practice on a segment of the OVH procedure that is typically challenging for students: the exteriorisation ...
