Uterine activity monitoring during labor

open access: yesJournal of Perinatal Medicine, 2007
To summarize the currently available knowledge on (1) the methods to monitor uterine activity (UA); (2) the units to quantify UA; and (3) to assess the importance of abnormal contraction patterns on the condition of the fetus. The need for correct assessment and interpretation of the uterine contraction curve to improve fetal outcome will be emphasized.

Cost effectiveness of ambulatory uterine activity monitoring

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics, 1989
AbstractA cost analysis is presented comparing 34 patients who received uterine activity monitoring versus 33 patients who attempted to detect uterine activity by palpation. All patients were at high risk for preterm delivery and were given the same educational information and prenatal care regarding signs and symptoms of preterm labor.

M-mode Ultrasound Scan as a Potential Alternative Technique for Monitoring Uterine Contractions in Obese Patients

open access: yesReproductive Sciences, 2021
