Uterine perforation by an intracavitary tandem: CT demonstration
Clinical Imaging, 1991Perforation of the uterus by a tandem device is an important complication of intracavitary radiotherapy for cervical carcinoma. Although the sonographic appearance of this complication is well recognized, its demonstration by computed tomography (CT) has been reported in only a single case. The management of intrauterine devices following uterine perforation
Contraception, 1991The generally accepted indications for removal of an intra-abdominal intrauterine device (IUD) are: a) a closed variety of IUD, b) medicated IUDs with copper or hormone release, and c) a medico-legal or psychological problem. A perforated IUD can be left in the peritoneal cavity if it is made of non-irritating plastic.
