Seminal plasma induces inflammation in the uterus through the γδ T/IL-17 pathway

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2016
After insemination, a large number of leukocytes migrate into the uterus, which is accompanied by intense inflammation. However, the details of how seminal plasma interacts with the uterus are still not very clear.

The Placenta Regulates Intrauterine Fetal Growth via Exosomal PPARγ

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The placenta expresses much higher levels of PPARγ than fetal adipose tissue. Trophoblastic exosomes transport PPARγ into fetal preadipocytes via fetoplacental circulation and thus regulate adipogenic genes distinct from endogenous PPARγ. Compromised placental PPARγ leads to fetal adipogenesis deficiency and intrauterine growth restriction, reversible ...

Identifying down and up-regulated chromosome regions using RNA-Seq data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The number of studies dealing with RNA-Seq data analysis has experienced a fast increase in the past years making this type of gene expression a strong competitor to the DNA microarrays. This paper proposes a Bayesian model to detect down and up-regulated chromosome regions using RNA-Seq data.

An Atypical Case of Pelvic Leiomyomatosis Peritonealis Disseminata [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
An exceptional case of Leiomyomatosis peritonealis disseminata which occurred in a perimenopausal woman was mistaken for ovarian malignancy at laparotomy as it had extensive involvement of the pelvic peritoneum without a trace of leiomyoma in uterus and ...

Targeting Decidual CD16+ Immune Cells with Exosome‐Based Glucocorticoid Nanoparticles for Miscarriage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Exosome‐based nanoparticles (GC‐Exo‐CD16Ab) are designed to deliver glucocorticoids (GC) specifically to decidual CD16+ NK cells and macrophages. This targeted delivery effectively suppresses the cytotoxicity of decidual NK cells, inhibits M1 macrophage polarization, and modulates the decidual microenvironment.
