Glycaemic and Cardiometabolic Outcomes of Empagliflozin Versus Sitagliptin Added to Metformin in T2DM: Insights From a Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

Empagliflozin added to metformin provides greater HbA1c reduction, weight loss and systolic blood pressure improvement compared with sitagliptin. However, this benefit is accompanied by a higher risk of genital infections, while other safety outcomes remain largely comparable between therapies.
