Ultrafast UV switch based on ZnO-Ag heterostructures

ZnO-silver (Ag) heterostructure nanoparticle films were prepared by spin-coating, followed by annealing at 700°C for 2 h. The films were then used as UV photodetector which show high photoresponse. The heterostructure-film device displayed an ultrafast decay time of 18 ms and a rise time of 50 ms upon ultraviolet irradiation.

The pure polyester polyurethane (TPU) film and the modified TPU (M-TPU) film containing 2.0 wt.% inorganic UV absorbers mixture (nano-ZnO/CeO2 with weight ratio of 3 : 2) and 0.5 wt.% organic UV absorbers mixture (UV-531/UV-327 with weight ratio of 1 : 1) were prepared by spin-coating technique.
