Effect of terahertz irradiation on DNA damage repair in living cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the effect of terahertz (THz) wave irradiation on DNA double‐strand break (DSB) repair in living cells. We found that THz irradiation enhanced DSB repair at specific frequencies, whereas heat treatment inhibited it, indicating that this effect is nonthermal and frequency‐specific.

In situ UV monitoring of wastewater: a response to sample aging

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 2004
The phenomenon of wastewater sample aging is supposed to be treated with a low temperature autosampler. This work presents two examples of treated wastewater, the quality of which varies with the time of conservation. This evolution may pose some problems with respect to regulation compliance or process control.

Multiscale characterization of the UV aging resistance and mechanism of light stabilizer-modified asphalt

open access: yesReviews on Advanced Materials Science
To clarify the effect and mechanism of hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) on the UV aging behavior of asphalt binder, T622-HALS was selected as the modifier for UV aging resistance of asphalt. The physicochemical properties and microstructure of T622

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Influence of variable intensity ultraviolet on the performance of SBS modified asphalt

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
Previous scholars studied UV aged asphalt performance under constant UV intensity. This study proposed a method of UV aged asphalt based on the time-varying UV intensity, which is more capable of realistically simulating the UV aging of asphalt under ...

Performance Comparison of Different Types of Anti-UV Aging Agents in Modified Asphalt

open access: yesBuildings
There are many types of asphalt anti-UV aging agents, and the differences in their UV resistance mechanisms result in varying degrees of UV aging resistance. This study utilized three types of anti-UV aging agents to modify asphalt.
