Determination of mirtazapine in tablets by UV spectrophotometric and derivative spectrophotometric methods

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2000
Mirtazapine, 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 14b-hexahydro-2-methyl-pyrazino [2, 1-a] pyrido [2, 3-c] [G.L. Stimmel, J.A. Dopheide and S.M. Stahl, Pharmacotheraphy 17(1) (1997) 10] benzazepine, is a new and well tolerated antidepressant. It blocks pre-synaptic alpha2-adrenergic receptors and postsynaptic serotonin type 2 and type 3 receptors.

UV Spectrophotometric method for the identification and solubility determination of nevirapine

open access: yesDie Pharmazie, 2009
An UV spectrophotometric method was developed for the quantitative determination of nevirapine in water, methanol and 0.1 N HCl. It was found that qualitative determination is also possible, due to a peak-shift observed with 0.1 N HCl. The solubility at 37°C, for both the anhydrous and hemihydrated forms of nevirapine, was determined in each of the ...

A validated UV spectrophotometric method for determination of duloxetine hydrochloride

Die Pharmazie, 2007
A simple, sensitive and accurate UV spectrophotometric method was developed for the assay of duloxetine hydrochloride in raw material and capsules. Validation of the method yielded good results concerning range, linearity, precision and accuracy. The absorbance was measured at 290 nm for duloxetine capsule solution.

Analysis of glimepiride by using derivative UV spectrophotometric method

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2001
Glimepiride (Amaryl), which is a new oral antidiabetic drug in the sulfonylurea class, was analysed by using second order derivative UV spectrophotometry. The quantification of glimepiride in dimethylformamide was performed in the wavelength range of 245-290 nm at N = 6, ?lambda = 21.

UV Spectrophotometric Method for Determination of Phenacetin in Biological Specimens

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1973
A UV spectrophotometric procedure for determining phenacetin in biological specimens is described. The drug is extracted from biological material by ether and oxidized to a quinone product by cobaltic oxide. The primary metabolite of phenacetin, N-acetyl-p-aminophenol, is assayed by providing a salting-out step in the extraction process. Better than 90%

Validated UV‐spectrophotometric method for the evaluation of the efficacy of makeup remover

International Journal of Cosmetic Science, 2011
SynopsisA UV‐spectrophotometric method for the analysis of makeup remover was developed and validated according to ICH guidelines. Three makeup removers for which the main ingredients consisted of vegetable oil (A), mineral oil and silicone (B) and mineral oil and water (C) were sampled in this study.

UV spectrophotometric method for polyphenolic tannin analysis

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2003
AbstractA UV spectrophotometric method for the determination of the total phenolic content of both polyflavonoid and hydrolyzable tannins was presented. The method was compared with the standard method used today for the determination of tanning material in tanning extracts for leather manufacture.

A Simple UV Spectrophotometric Method for Nicotine in Smoke

Applied Spectroscopy, 1988
As a result of research reported by Swain et al. and Willits et al. the ultraviolet spectrophotometric method was shown to be a rapid and accurate procedure for the determination of nicotine in tobacco and tobacco products. Later Keith and Newsome and Laurence and Harrel added some modifications to the original method and applied their techniques to ...

A New Method for The UV Spectrophotometric Determination of Mercury

Analytical Letters, 1973
Abstract Mercury forms a complex with 2-mercaptobenzoic acid which may be extracted into ethyl acetate to form the basis of a selective and sensitive method for the determination of mercury by solution spectrophotometry at 265 nm. Of twenty-nine ions investigated, only Cu2+, Co2+, Zn2+ and Fe3+ interfered at 100-fold molar excess.
