Anterior Uveitis and Hypopyon

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1991
We undertook a study to determine the incidence of hypopyon, as well as the most common anterior uveitis entities with which hypopyon is associated. A total of 216 patients with anterior uveitis were studied. The uveitis was acute in 155. Of the 155 patients, 11 (7.1%) had hypopyon. Nine of the 11 patients with hypopyon were positive for HLA B27.

HLA27 and Anterior Uveitis

Tissue Antigens, 1975
HL‐A types were determined in 90 successive patients with non‐granulomatous uveitis. Fifty‐one were HL‐A27 positive (55.7%) compared to 8.2% of controls. Of 16 patients with ankylosing spondylitis, 13 were HL‐A27 positive, as were two patients with a history of Reiter's syndrome.Twenty‐eight patients were HL‐A27 positive but had no evidence of ...

Intraocular Diseases – Anterior Uveitis

2007
Uveitis is a general term for inflammatory disorders of the uveal tract and encompasses a wide range of underlying etiologies. Cytomegalovirus Anterior Uveitis

2016
The seroprevalence of Cytomegalovirus (CMV) ranges from 40 to 100 % being highest in less developed areas and is a significant cause of ocular disease both in immunocompromised and immunocompetent persons. CMV retinitis has long been recognized as a major cause of blindness in patients with human immunodeficiency virus infection and perinatally ...

Uveitis (acute anterior).

BMJ clinical evidence, 2011
Anterior uveitis is rare, with an annual incidence of 12/100,000 population, although it is more common in Finland (annual incidence of 23/100,000), probably because of genetic factors, such as high frequency of HLA-B27 in the population. It is often self-limiting, but can, in some cases, lead to complications such as posterior synechiae, cataract ...

Canine anterior uveitis

Companion Animal, 2016
Uveitis, or inflammation of the uveal tract, is a relatively common ocular presentation in dogs. The majority of cases of canine anterior uveitis in the UK are idiopathic, but there are many potential underlying causes, so a thorough diagnostic work-up is warranted.

Infectious Anterior Uveitis

2019
Worldwide, anterior uveitis predominates as the most prevalent anatomic subtype of intraocular inflammation, and up to one-third of these cases are attributable to infection. By far, herpetic etiologies outweigh all other causes of infectious anterior uveitis; however, bacterial pathogens, such as syphilis, tuberculosis, and less so, Lyme disease, have
