A Challenging Case of Advanced Cardiac Sarcoidosis Refractory to Infliximab Therapy
ABSTRACT Cardiac sarcoidosis can be life‐threatening, and lack of response to immunosuppressive therapy remains a significant challenge in active disease. We present a case of refractory cardiac sarcoidosis despite third‐line immunosuppression (infliximab). Ongoing multimodality assessment is essential for managing refractory cardiac sarcoidosis.

A Novel Slit Lamp‐Based System for 3D Ultrasound of the Eye
Objectives This study aims to develop and evaluate a novel slit‐lamp‐based system to acquire 3‐dimensional (3D) ultrasound volumes using conventional ultrasound probes. Methods A slit‐lamp adapter was 3D printed and connected with a linear actuator and graphical user interface (GUI) system to control movement and create volumes of 2‐dimensional scans ...

Infection control in the brain and the eye
Abstract The Central Nervous System (CNS), comprising the brain and the eye, is considered to have a ‘privileged’ mechanism for dealing with immunological challenge (immune privilege, IP). CNS IP has been revealed through experiments using foreign protein antigens and cell and tissue alloantigens (grafts), but evidence for a role for IP in modulating ...
