Distribution and fluxes of aggregates >100 μm in the upper kilometer of the South-Eastern Pacific [PDF]
Large sinking particles transport organic and inorganic matter into the deeper layers of the oceans. Between 70 and 90% of the aggregates exported from the surface mixed layer are disaggregated within the upper 1000 m.

This study revealed a dose‐dependent miRNA buffering mechanism involving extracellular export and storage of miRNA on lipid droplets. The protein HuR facilitates miRNA buffering by dissociating miRNAs from Ago2 and promoting miRNA accumulation on lipid droplets or its extracellular export, depending on cellular requirements.

Erosion of granular sediments by submerged impinging jets: Particle size effects and cohesion onset
Abstract This study investigates the erosion behavior and modeling of glass particle beds under impinging jet conditions, with a focus on particle size effects and the onset of cohesion. Ultrasonic profiling is implemented to scan and measure static crater profiles.

Turbulent Bubbly Channel Flow Investigated by Ultrasound Velocity Profiler
Ultrasound velocity profiler (UVP) is applied to measurements of a horizontal turbulent bubbly channel flow to ascertain the mechanism of bubble-induced frictional drag reduction. Typical parameter regimes of the target flow are Re number of 0.6-6.0 x104,

Abstract Osteosarcoma (OS) is an aggressive bone malignancy characterized by genomic instability and extensive extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. Members of the ADAMTS family are matrix‐associated proteases implicated in tumorigenesis; however, their roles in OS remain poorly defined. This study provides a comprehensive genomic, transcriptomic, and

Collagen peptides hydrogels with tunable mechanical dynamics were developed by employing physical or chemical nanoparticle crosslinkers. Dual‐responsive hydrogels with magnetic‐driven alignment were fabricated under a low magnetic field and rapid UV exposure. The presence of biophysical anisotropy, enhanced biomechanical dynamics, and growth factors—as

Allele‐informed QTL‐seq identifies Hd18 as a minor modifier of heading date in elite rice cultivars
Abstract Fine‐tuning heading date is critical for optimizing yield, grain quality, and local adaptation in rice (Oryza sativa L.). QTL‐seq (where QTL is quantitative trait locus), which integrates bulked segregant analysis with whole‐genome resequencing, provides a rapid and cost‐effective approach for identifying QTLs underlying complex traits ...

The Aggregation of Fish in the Metalimnion Constrains Zooplankton Diel Vertical Migration
ABSTRACT The role of fish predation in zooplankton diel vertical migration (DVM) is well established, where zooplankton move to deep waters during the day—to hide from visual predators in surface layers—and return to the epilimnion at night (i.e., ‘normal’ DVM), to feed on phytoplankton.

ABSTRACT Plant viruses frequently cause severe economic losses in worldwide crop production. Developing broad‐spectrum resistance is the most efficient approach for controlling plant viral diseases. In this work, we found that the 17K protein of barley yellow dwarf viruses (BYDVs), which has multiple functions in viral pathogenesis including acting as ...
