Mol Plant PatholThe fungal effector VdEPG1, secreted by Verticillium dahliae, interacts with the PR10/Bet v1‐like protein GhSTH‐2. This interaction activates GhSTH‐2‐mediated enhancement of cotton disease resistance through GhTXNDC9‐dependent ROS signalling, while simultaneously enabling VdEPG1 to suppress GhSTH‐2‐induced immunogenic necroptosis.
