Abstract Belonostomus longirostrisis was named for an isolated jaw fragment from freshwater Upper Cretaceous (Campanian) sediments of the Dinosaur Park Formation of Alberta, Canada. SpyCatcher‐mi3 nanoparticles displaying RBD‐SD1 from MERS‐CoV, NL140422, and HKU4 elicited robust and cross‐reactive IgG responses in mice. Only MERS‐CoV RBD‐SD1 induced neutralizing antibodies against MERS‐CoV and protected human DPP4 mice from a MERS‐CoV challenge, indicating conserved serologic but limited cross‐neutralizing epitopes.
