Massive cardiac vegetation and cardiomyopathy in a 23‐year‐old rancher with brucellosis

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 11, Issue 11, November 2023., 2023
Key clinical massage A 23‐year‐old rancher was admitted with the diagnosis of brucellosis. In evaluations, a massive vegetation in the aortic valve was seen. A combination of antibiotic therapy and cardiac surgery were performed, it seems this approach reduces mortality and complications.

Prediction of postnatal circulation in pulmonary atresia/critical stenosis with intact ventricular septum: systematic review and external validation of models

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 62, Issue 1, Page 14-22, July 2023., 2023
ABSTRACT Objective A favorable postnatal prognosis in cases of pulmonary atresia/critical stenosis with intact ventricular septum (PA/CS‐IVS) is generally equated with the possibility of achieving biventricular (BV) repair. Identification of fetuses that will have postnatal univentricular (UV) circulation is key for prenatal counseling, optimization of

Mapping key neuropeptides involved in the melanocortin system in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) brain

open access: yesJournal of Comparative Neurology, Volume 531, Issue 1, Page 89-115, January 2023., 2023
npy, agrp, cart, and pomc were expressed in feeding‐related regions, including hypothalamus of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar). In the hypothalamic lateral tuberal nucleus, the putative homolog to the mammalian arcuate nucleus, npya, agrp1, cart2b, and pomca were predominantly localized in distinct neurons; however, some neurons coexpressed cart2b/pomca.

Distribution of neurogranin‐like immunoreactivity in the brain and sensory organs of the adult zebrafish

open access: yesJournal of Comparative Neurology, Volume 530, Issue 10, Page 1569-1587, July 2022., 2022
The expression and distribution of mammalian neurogranin‐like peptides were studied in the brain and sensory organs of adult zebrafish by means of immunocytochemical methods. Results indicate the relation of these neuropeptides with primary and highly integrative centers and suggest a divergent evolution in teleosts.

The organization of the zebrafish pallium from a hodological perspective

open access: yesJournal of Comparative Neurology, Volume 530, Issue 8, Page 1164-1194, June 2022., 2022
The central connections of the pallial nuclei of the adult zebrafish were examined by means of carbocyanine dye tracing, showing specialized afferent and efferent projections and indicating a modular organization for different neural processes. Abstract We studied the connections (connectome) of the adult zebrafish pallium using carbocyanine dye ...

Anatomía aplicada de la válvula mitral

open access: yesCirugía Cardiovascular, 2005

Shock tras implante inmediato de TAVI. ¿Sabemos a qué nos enfrentamos? Resolución

open access: yesREC: Interventional Cardiology, 2021
