Channel Modeling for V2V Communications

2006 Third Annual International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems: Networking & Services, 2006
In this paper we describe results of a channel measurement campaign for modeling the V2V channel. After review of applications, potential frequency bands, and related work, we describe the measurements and results for delay spreads and multipath component fading amplitudes and correlations, made in multiple V2V environments.

V2V Next Steps: A Proposal for Simplification of V2V Safety Systems

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2013
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Much good work has been done in recent years by the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the design, specification, and testing of potential future Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) safety systems that will provide early warning of impending hazards to drivers ...

Online MEC Offloading for V2V Networks

IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, 2023
As an enabling technology for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) networks, multi-access edge computing (MEC) provides a feasible platform for sharing power and resources, and offloading some of the computation-intensive tasks between vehicles. This, however, is challenging with the unpredictable variations in road traffic conditions and vehicle mobility in MEC ...

Radio Resource Management for V2V Discovery

2017 IEEE 85th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2017
Big expectations are put into vehicularcommunications (V2X) for a safer and more intelligent driving. With human lives at risk, the system cannot afford to fail, whichtranslates into very stringent reliability and latencyrequirements to the radio network.

V2V communication in a Cox field of vehicles

2014 International Conference on Connected Vehicles and Expo (ICCVE), 2014
We study the effect of vehicle's random locations in vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication. To account for a doubly stochastic property of a vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET), we model vehicle's random locations as a stationary Cox process. The key wireless propagations — path loss, shadowing, and multipath fading — are also considered.

Group-based authentication in V2V communications

2015 Fifth International Conference on Digital Information and Communication Technology and its Applications (DICTAP), 2015
In this paper, we investigate a security architecture for V2V communication that ensure integrity, confidentiality, anonymity, authenticity and non-repudiation. Based on IEEE 1609.2 Standard, we propose group-based V2V authentication and communication for safety message dissemination with lightweight solution, decentralized via group leaders (GLs ...

Experimental Assessment of V2V and I2V Communications

2007 IEEE Internatonal Conference on Mobile Adhoc and Sensor Systems, 2007
A key component of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) is the provision of adequate network infrastructure to support vehicular communication. In this paper we present the results of an extensive measurement campaign evaluating the performance of IEEE 802.11 in different vehicular communication scenarios: vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and ...

Large-scale simulation of V2V environments

Proceedings of the 2008 ACM symposium on Applied computing, 2008
Providing vehicles with enhanced ability to communicate and exchange real-time data with neighboring vehicles opens up a variety of complex challenges that can only be met by combining different research fronts such as wireless communications, information processing, self-organization protocols and collaborative optimization.

A Novel Method for Extending V2V System

Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Vision, Image and Signal Processing, 2019
Autonomous vehicles requires sufficient perception of the surrounding environment to make proper driving behavior. Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) is a technology that allow vehicles exchange location information (i.e. velocity, position) which can improve the perception capabilities of traditional on-board sensors.
