V2V: Vector Embedding of a Graph and Applications

open access: yes2018 IEEE International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium Workshops (IPDPSW), 2018
We present V2V, a method for embedding each vertex in a graph as a vector in a fixed dimensional space. Inspired by methods for word embedding such as word2vec, a vertex embedding is computed through enumerating random walks in the graph, and using the resulting vertex sequences to provide the context for each vertex.

On the maximal shortest path in a connected component in V2V [PDF]

open access: yesPerformance Evaluation, 2015
In this work, a VANET (Vehicular Ad-hoc NETwork) is considered to operate on a simple lane, without infrastructure. The arrivals of vehicles are assumed to be general with any traffic and speed assumptions. The vehicles communicate through the shortest path.

Cesni‐cel (ARI0002h) in ultra‐high‐risk multiple myeloma with plasma cell leukaemia or central nervous system involvement

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
ARI0002h induced response in 15/17 patients with plasma cell leukaemia (PCL)/central nervous system (CNS)‐multiple myeloma (MM) (87% achieved ≥ very good partial response [VGPR]) with a median progression‐free survival (PFS)/overall survival (OS) of 10.5 and 15.9 months respectively.

When Cryptography Needs a Hand: Practical Post-Quantum Authentication for V2V Communications

open access: yesNetwork and Distributed System Security Symposium
—We tackle the atypical challenge of supporting post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and its significant overhead in safety-critical vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications, dealing with strict overhead and latency restrictions within the limited radio ...

Deep Reinforcement Learning Based Resource Allocation for V2V Communications [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2018
In this paper, we develop a novel decentralized resource allocation mechanism for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications based on deep reinforcement learning, which can be applied to both unicast and broadcast scenarios.

Japanese Women's Attitudes Toward Learning Languages Other Than English in the Era of Global English

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Linguistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study on female Japanese learners of the Korean language is situated in the centuries‐long anti‐Korean sentiments in Japan, the global popularity of the Korean Wave, particularly among women, and the essentialized image of socially marginalized young Japanese women who study English with romantic desires for Western men.

Scalable broadcast authentication for V2V communication [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Vehicular Ad Hoc Networking (VANET) technology is, at it’s core, the simple idea of outfitting vehicles with wireless data communication equipment for automatic information exchange. This technology is expected to serve as a foundation for a set of novel safety, automation, and infotainment applications.

Teacher Well‐Being Across Career Stages: An Ecological Study of Early‐ and Mid‐Career English Teachers in Japanese Secondary Schools

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Linguistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Teacher well‐being has garnered increasing attention in language education, as it plays a vital role in shaping both their professional lives and student learning. Although its importance is recognised, further research is still needed to gain a more comprehensive understanding of language teachers' well‐being.
