Velocity curve studies of spectroscopic binary stars V380 Cygni, V401 Cyg, V523 Cas, V373 Cas and V2388 Oph [PDF]
Using measured radial velocity data of five double lined spectroscopic binary systems V380 Cygni, V401 Cyg, V523 Cas, V373 Cas and V2388 Oph, we find corresponding orbital and spectroscopic elements via the method introduced by Karami & Mohebi (2007) and Karami & Teimoorinia (2007). Our numerical results are in good agreement wit.

Long-term photometric study of the W UMa binary star V523 Cas [PDF]
We present a long-term photoelectric and charge-coupled device (CCD) photometric study of the short-period W UMa star V523 Cas made from 1986 to 2000. The orbital-period changes and light-curve variations of the binary system are studied. 47 new times of minima are obtained from our data.

Photometric Observations of the Contact Binary System V523 Cassiopeiae [PDF]
A total of 583 observations (193 in Δb, 190 in Δv, 200 in Δr) for V523 Cas was made on 9 nights from September to December in 2008 using the 100 cm telescope with 2K CCD camera of the Chungbuk National University Observatory.

A photometric study of the contact binaries V523 Cas and TY UMa [PDF]
Broad-band V and I photometry of the short-period W UMa-type contact binaries V523 Cas and TY UMa are reported. From the light curves, the system parameters have been determined and evidence is presented for extensive spot activity in both systems, with V523 Cas being the more active system.

Progress report on the monitoring active late-type stars in 2005/2006 and the analysis of V523 Cas [PDF]
We present the light curve analysis of late-type binary V523 Cas for the season 2005. The spot has been revealed on the secondary. According to theoretical considerations, the spot appeared to be hotter than the surrounding photosphere and located at ...

Kinematics of W UMa-type binaries and evidences on the two types of formation [PDF]
The kinematics of 129 W UMa binaries is studied and its implications on the contact binary evolution is discussed. The sample is found to be heterogeneous in the velocity space that kinematically younger and older contact binaries exist in the sample ...
