The V f gene for scab resistance in apple is linked to sub-lethal genes [PDF]

open access: yesEuphytica, 2006
V f is the most widely used resistance gene in the breeding for scab resistant apple cultivars. Distorted segregation ratios for V f -resistance have frequently been reported.

Recombinant Measles Viruses with Mutations in the C, V, or F Gene Have Altered Growth Phenotypes In Vivo [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 1998
ABSTRACT An understanding of the determinants of measles virus (MV) virulence has been hampered by the lack of an experimental model of infection. We have previously demonstrated that virulence phenotypes in human infections are faithfully reproduced by infection of human thymus/liver (thy/liv) implants engrafted into SCID mice, where the ...

Optimizing environmental safety and cell-killing potential of oncolytic Newcastle Disease virus with modifications of the V, F and HN genes

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2022
Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) is an avian RNA virus, which was shown to be effective and safe for use in oncolytic viral therapy for several tumour malignancies. The presence of a multi basic cleavage site (MBCS) in the fusion protein improved its oncolytic efficacy in vitro and in vivo. However, NDV with a MBCS can be virulent in poultry.

QTLs and Potential Candidate Genes for Heat Stress Tolerance Identified from the Mapping Populations Specifically Segregating for Fv/Fm in Wheat [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
Despite the fact that Fv/Fm (maximum quantum efficiency of photosystem II) is the most widely used parameter for a rapid non-destructive measure of stress detection in plants, there are barely any studies on the genetic understanding of this trait under heat stress.

INVESTIGATION OF THE FREQUENCY OF FC GAMMA RECEPTOR IIIA V/158/F GENE POLYMORPHISM AND COMPARISON OF CLINICAL AND LABORATORY FINDINGS IN RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS (RA)

open access: yesEuropean Oral Research, 2019
Objective: Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a chronic multisystem disease with unknown etiology that progressively affects peripheral joints. Receptors, which serve as links between humoral and cellular immune responses, recognize the Fc region of immunoglobulin G (FcR) and have become the focus of many research studies concerning the etiology and ...

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult Patients With Osteosarcoma: Local Control Outcomes With Dosimetric Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Osteosarcoma is a radioresistant tumor that may benefit from stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for locoregional control in metastatic/recurrent disease. We report institutional practice patterns, outcomes, toxicity, and failures in osteosarcoma patients treated with SBRT.
