Vascular access complications in patients undergoing veno-arterial ecmo and their impact on survival in patients with refractory cardiogenic shock: A retrospective 8-year study

open access: yesAnnals of Cardiac Anaesthesia, 2022
Introduction: Veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is well-recognized treatment modality for patients with refractory cardiogenic shock. Uncomplicated cannulation is a prerequisite and basis for achieving a successful outcome in ECMO.

Nitride MXenes Beyond Carbides: Bridging the Gap Between Computational Prediction and Experimental Realization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nitride MXenes remain constrained by a persistent gap between computational prediction and experimental realization. This Review identifies the thermodynamic, kinetic, and chemical barriers limiting their synthesis, critically evaluates emerging fabrication routes, and proposes a multidimensional computational‐experimental framework to accelerate the ...

A Universal van der Waals Tunneling Injector for Monolayer CMOS

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A universal van der Waals injector unlocks polarity‐flexible tunneling contacts for monolayer CMOS. SnSe2, an intrinsically degenerate 2D semiconductor, establishes polarity‐specific band alignments with both WSe2 and MoS2 channels, enabling steep switching, high on/off ratios, and a unified route to low‐power 2D logic.

A field investigation of the impact of the interaction between IBR vaccination and insemination time in cow herd: Reproductive and economic perspectives [PDF]

open access: yesBenha Veterinary Medical Journal
Post-vaccination reaction includes hyperthermia and/or stress which could impair animal fertility and causes economic losses. To verify the possible consequences of bovine Herpes virus 1 vaccination, Holstein cows (n= 840) from 1st-3rd lactations ...

Timing of antimicrobial therapy after identification of ventilator-associated condition is not associated with mortality in patients with ventilator-associated pneumonia: a cohort study. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
PURPOSE: Delays in antimicrobial therapy increase mortality in ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). The more objective ventilator-associated complications (VAC) are increasingly used for quality reporting.

Usefulness of vacuum-assisted closure after stoma closure with purse string suturing: a retrospective trial

open access: yesFujita Medical Journal, 2022
Objectives: Surgical site infection (SSI) is a problematic complication after stoma closure. The purse string suture (PSS) technique eliminates this problem, but the area takes longer to heal. The present retrospective study was performed to evaluate the
