Characterization and range of kerogen properties in the Vaca Muerta Formation, Neuquén Basin, Argentina

Organic Geochemistry, 2019
Abstract The Vaca Muerta Formation of the Neuquen Basin, Argentina, is a prolific oil- and gas-producing resource, characterized by high organic content and a large thermal maturity gradient running east to west. Kerogen properties are expected to vary substantially across the basin because of the range in thermal maturity (immature to dry gas).

Completion Efficiency Evaluation in Horizontal Wells and its Importance in Vaca Muerta Formation

SPE Argentina Exploration and Production of Unconventional Resources Symposium, 2018
Abstract In Argentina, unconventional reservoir development learning processes have been continuously advancing, specially lowering project costs in Vaca Muerta's different zones, light oil, gas-condensate and dry gas. However, the actual international oil and gas prices are forcing companies to search for additional improvements to keep

Reducing uncertainty in characterization of Vaca Muerta Formation Shale with poststack seismic data

The Leading Edge, 2015
Abstract The Late Jurassic–Early Cretaceous Vaca Muerta (VM) Formation in the Neuquén Basin has served as an important source rock for many of the conventional oil and gas fields in Argentina. With the interest in developing and exploiting shale resources in the country, many companies there have undertaken characterization of the VM ...

Leveraging US Unconventional Data Analytics Learnings in Vaca Muerta Shale Formation.

SPE Europec featured at 81st EAGE Conference and Exhibition, 2019
Abstract Data Analytics is progressively gaining traction as a viable resource to improve forecasts and reserve estimations in most prospective US shale plays. Part of those learnings has been tested for the reserves and resources estimation of the next worldwide top-class shale play, Vaca Muerta formation in Argentina.

Real-Time Acoustic Measurements for Design Evaluation and Optimization in the Vaca Muerta Formation

SPE Argentina Exploration and Production of Unconventional Resources Symposium
Abstract As many advancements and technologies in hydraulic fracturing continue to make their way to the Vaca Muerta formation, Neuquen, Argentina has become home to one of the fastest growing shales plays globally. To build on the success of US unconventional, an Argentinian operator opted to incorporate real-time acoustic friction ...
