This paper reevaluates the quantitative performance of the standard labor-market matching model developed by Mortensen and Pissarides with special attention to the behavior of vacancies, one of the key variables in the model. I first estimate trivariate vector autoregressions with gross worker flows and vacancies and identify an aggregate shock by ...

Vacancy-vacancy and vacancy-electron interactions in TiOx
Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1978Abstract Quantitative measurements have been made of the diffuse scattering from TiO x , single crystals with both quenched specimens and specimens at high temperatures above the ordering reaction. These measurements indicate that there are strong vacancy-vacancy interactions in the fifth and sixth neighbor shell around a vacancy ( J 5 and J 6 )

Extended vacancy-vacancy liquid model
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 1995A quasicrystalline model of a binary liquid in which two sublattices containing randomly distributed vacancies is developedvia statistical thermodynamics. The relative partial molar quantities are obtained. The constraints imposed upon the adjustable model parameters to ensure that the Schottky constant increases with increasing temperature but never ...

Vacancy-Vacancy Interaction in Copper
Physical Review, 1960The binding energy of two vacancies in a static lattice as a function of their separation and the positions of their displaced neighboring atoms has been calculated using a Morse potential function model for copper. It was found that two vacancies attract one another at separation less than about 7 A.

Vacancy-vacancy, vacancy-impurity, and impurity-impurity interactions in aluminum
Physical Review B, 1974Electronic interactions between vacancies and impurity atoms have been generally studied using the pseudopotential formulation based on the second-order perturbation theory. The distortions of the lattice around vacancies and impurity atoms were conventionally neglected because of their great complexity.

Impurity-vacancy and vacancy-vacancy binding energies in α-iron
Philosophical Magazine, 1975Abstract The impurity-vacancy and the vacancy-vacancy binding energies in α-iron are estimated in a simple electronic model. The band structure of the pure metal is described by a hybridized tight binding nearly free electron (TB-NFE) model adjusted to a self-consistent KKR calculation.
