Analysis of an M/M/1 Queue With Working Vacation and Vacation Interruption [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, an M/M/1 queue with working vacation and vacation interruption is investigated. The server is supposed to interrupt the vacation and return back to the normal working period, if there are at least N customers waiting in the system at a ...

Nitride MXenes Beyond Carbides: Bridging the Gap Between Computational Prediction and Experimental Realization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nitride MXenes remain constrained by a persistent gap between computational prediction and experimental realization. This Review identifies the thermodynamic, kinetic, and chemical barriers limiting their synthesis, critically evaluates emerging fabrication routes, and proposes a multidimensional computational‐experimental framework to accelerate the ...

Barrier‐Assisted Plasma Doping for Spatially Selective Resistance Engineering in MoS2 Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Barrier‐assisted NH3 plasma doping enables damage‐free, spatially selective carrier modulation in monolayer MoS2 transistors. An ultrathin pV3D3/Al2O3 protective‐dielectric stack acts as a chemical filter that allows NHx radicals to reach the MoS2 surface while blocking plasma damage. This process achieves a high electron concentration of 4.3 × 1013 cm−

A Stochastic Service System with N-Policy, Bernoulli Interruption Vacations and Patient Server

open access: yesAxioms
This paper studies a stochastic service system with N-policy, Bernoulli interruption vacations, and a patient server. When the number of waiting customers reaches the threshold N during a vacation, the server interrupts the vacation with probability p(0 ...

Nano‐Architected Metallic Metamaterial With Enhanced Fatigue Resistance via Dislocation Starvation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoscale Ni single crystals exhibit remarkable fatigue resistance over an order of magnitude higher than that of bulk single crystals through dislocation starvation. By translating this mechanism into geometric nano‐architecture, nano‐architected Ni single‐crystal metamaterials achieve about twice the fatigue resistance of the bulk, despite their ...

In Situ Lithium Nitridosilicate Interlayer via Reactive Anolyte Design for All‐Solid‐State Silicon Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Interfacial reactions in all‐solid‐state batteries are conventionally suppressed; here, they are designed. Vacancy‐rich β‐Li3N, acting as an anolyte, reacts controllably with silicon during composite anode fabrication, building a purpose‐made lithium nitridosilicate interlayer on every particle surface.

Toward Perception‐Native Electronic Skin: Bio‐Inspired In‐/Near‐Sensor and Neuromorphic Computing for Humanoid Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Dense tactile streams from across the humanoid body converge on collide in a central wiring and data bottleneck. By relocating computation closer to and then into the skin itself, near‐ and in‐sensor architectures, together with neuromorphic computing, chart a path toward perception‐native electronic skin, in which the conversion of stimulus into ...
