Unveiling the complex extra‐oral colonization pathways and pathogenic mechanisms of Fusobacterium nucleatum, a heterogeneous oral pathogen

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
We summarize the taxonomic characteristics, capabilities to adhere to and invade host cells, extra‐oral ectopic colonization pathways, and major pathogenic mechanisms of Fusobacterium nucleatum, and explore the regulation of F. nucleatum’s pathogenesis, aiming to provide references and assistance for the development of clinical interventions and future

Pancreatic Fat Accumulation Impacts Postoperative Survival in Patients With Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
Fatty pancreas was pathologically assessed and quatificated using tumor and non‐tumor portions of resected specimens in patients with pancreatic cancer. We found that the presence of fatty pancreas evaluated in non‐tumor portions was an independent inferior prognostic indicator for overall survival and recurrence free survival.

Ovarian Cell Accumulation of Model PVC Nanoplastics Labelled With CdSe‐QDs Investigated by X‐Ray Fluorescence Microscopy

open access: yesX-Ray Spectrometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The distribution of micro‐ and nanoplastics (MNPs) in the environment is increasingly becoming a cause of concern for human health. The small size of these particles makes them prone to accumulate not only in the tissues of various organs but also enables them to enter cells and act as carriers of external materials and microbes.
