Distillation of vacuum gas oil in a column with new packings
AbstractA description of the technological scheme of the unit for separating the fraction of vacuum gas oil (FVG) is given, where the process of separation of heavy gas oil from FVG takes place in the column. The main focus of the work is on the design of a distillation column using the new structured roll packing.

Prevension of oil vapor backstreaming in vacuum systems by gas purge method.
Mechanical pumps have been used as roughing pumps in many vacuum systems because of the ease of their operation. However, it is a well known fact that heavy oil vapor backstreaming occurs when mechanical pumps are operated at pressures close to their ultimate pressure. This backstreaming oil vapor contaminates the vacuum system.

Three-Phase Simulation of Hydrotreating of Vacuum Gas Oil
Abstract We develop a numerical model for practical simulation of hydrotreatment of vacuum gas oil in a trickle-bed reactor. The model is based on the mass balance of species; it incorporates a seven-lump chemical scheme that describes the reactions of hydrodesulphurisation and hydrodearomatisation.

Construction and Testing of a Rarefied Gas Flow Facility [PDF]
A low-density gasdynamic facility, suitable for measurement of mass flow through small (approximately 1 mm diameter) nozzles, tubes, and orifices, was designed and constructed. The system is capable of producing and measuring mass flows at 100:1 upstream/

Degradation of Environmental Protection Coatings for Gas Turbine Materials [PDF]
Nowadays, problems of component materials reliability in gas and oil-fired gas turbines focus on assessing the potential behaviour of commonly employed coatings, in order to avoid expensive and unpredictable failure in service and producing new materials
