Facilitating Marketization à contrecœur: Why Stakeholders May Continue to Support Organizations that Introduce Market Practices Violating their Values

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract Research on institutional logics provides ample evidence that market logic and its associated practices have spread across fields within capitalist societies – a phenomenon commonly called ‘marketization’. However, logics research has paid little attention to the individual‐level mental processes that facilitate marketization.

Vacuum window glazings for energy-efficient buildings [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
The technical feasibility of a patented, laser-welded, evacuated insulating window was studied. The window has two edge-sealed sheets of glass separated by 0.5-mm glass spheres spaced 30 mm apart in a regular array. A highly insulating frame is required and several designs were analyzed.

Breaking Barriers: Scaffolding Social‐Symbolic Work for Women’s Economic Empowerment

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract This study advances the understanding of Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) in non‐Western contexts by theorizing how social‐symbolic work facilitates empowerment despite entrenched institutional and cultural constraints. Drawing on a qualitative study into the establishment of Kuwait’s first women’s business incubator, we explore how female ...

Pressed lithium disilicate glass ceramics: Microstructural characterization, in vitro and in silico nonlinear dynamic analysis for biaxial flexural strength

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To evaluate the mechanical properties of lithium disilicates, and to assess the predictive capability of in silico models for biaxial flexural strength (BFS). Materials and Methods Specimens of four heat‐pressed lithium disilicates (IPS e.max Press, Rosetta SP, LiSi Press, Vintage Prime Press) were obtained.

The Paradoxes of the Spiritual Self: Disidentification as a Marker of Identity

open access: yesJournal for the Scientific Study of Religion, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines how practitioners of self‐spirituality conceptualize their spiritual identity. On the basis of 62 in‐depth interviews with secular Jewish Israelis engaged in various spiritual practices, we find that spiritual identity is constructed through a distinctive cultural logic we term disidentification—a systematic resistance to ...
