Low Concentration Coal Mine Methane Concentrated by Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption

2010 International Conference on Digital Manufacturing & Automation, 2010
In order to solve the current situation that low-concentration oxygen-bearing coal mine methane can’t be concentrated and utilized, the vacuum pressure swing adsorption process was employed to concentrate the oxygen-bearing coal mine methane gas with the methane concentration of 20%.

CO2 capture using a novel hybrid monolith (H-ZSM5/activated carbon) as adsorbent by combined vacuum and electric swing adsorption (VESA) [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Engineering Journal, 2019
Electrical swing adsorption (ESA) is an interesting cyclic adsorption technology which relies on rapid Joule heating of the adsorbent to liberate adsorbed molecules such as CO2.

Effect of bed void volume on pressure vacuum swing adsorption for air separation

Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2013
The effects of a poorly packed bed on the pressure vacuum swing adsorption (PVSA) process were in- vestigated experimentally and theoretically by a five-step two-bed PVSA system. At first, the adsorption dynamics of a zeolite LiX bed for air separation (78 mol% N2, 21 mol% O2 and 1 mol% Ar) was studied at various adsorption pressures and flow rates. In

Four-Bed Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption Process for Propylene/Propane Separation

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2005
A vacuum pressure swing adsorption (VPSA) using zeolite 5A was studied experimentally and theoretically. An equimolar mixture of propylene/propane was used as a feed gas for an eight-step, four-bed VPSA process. Isotherm data of zeolite 5A at various temperatures and breakthrough curves of propylene and propane for both adsorption and regeneration ...

Vacuum pressure swing adsorption system for N2/CH4 separation under uncertainty

Chemical Engineering Research and Design, 2019
Abstract This work presents a detailed study for the systematic design and analysis of effective VPSA process control for the separation of methane–nitrogen mixture. A rigorous mathematic model of VPSA process was developed in prior to simulate the real VPSA process and to reflect its cyclic dynamic behaviours more exactly.

Removal of Carbon Dioxide from Natural Gas by Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption

Energy & Fuels, 2006
A vacuum pressure swing adsorption (VSA-PSA) process is studied for the removal of carbon dioxide in a contaminated stream of natural gas to achieve fuel grade methane. The adsorbent used was zeolite 13X (CECA) where CO2 is strongly adsorbed.

Enhanced Computational Approach for Simulation and Optimisation of Vacuum (Pressure) Swing Adsorption

Systems and Control Transactions
Vacuum (pressure) swing adsorption (V(P)SA) has received considerable attention in the past decades. Existing studies typically estimate vacuum pump energy consumption using an approximate constant energy efficiency or an empirical energy efficiency correlation, leading to inaccurate representation of realistic vacuum pump performance. In this paper an

Study of a novel rapid vacuum pressure swing adsorption process with intermediate gas pressurization for producing oxygen

Adsorption, 2016
A novel rapid vacuum pressure swing adsorption process with intermediate gas pressurization for producing oxygen is proposed to improve the performance of miniature oxygen concentrator based rapid pressure swing adsorption technology. The effects of intermediate gas pressurization and desorption pressure on the performance of the process are evaluated ...
