Ecosustainable biomethane and fertilizerproduction through anaerobic co-digestionof animal manure and energy crops [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In Italy and many European countries energy production from biomass is encouraged by strong economic subsidies so that renewable energy plants, anaerobic digestion plant producing biogas in particular, are getting large diffusion.

High Purity/Recovery Separation of Propylene from Propyne Using Anion Pillared Metal-Organic Framework: Application of Vacuum Swing Adsorption (VSA)

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Propylene is one of the world’s most important basic olefin raw material used in the production of a vast array of polymers and other chemicals. The need for high purity grade of propylene is essential and traditionally achieved by the very energy ...

Porous Organic Cages for CO2 Capture and Confined Reduction

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Porous organic cages (POCs) enable the coupling of CO2 capture and conversion through the interplay of molecular structure and solid‐state organization. Beyond intrinsic cavities, packing‐dependent pore accessibility and mass transport govern local CO2 concentration and catalytic performance, linking adsorption to reactivity in integrated capture ...

How much can novel solid sorbents reduce the cost of post-combustion CO2 capture? A techno-economic investigation on the cost limits of pressure-vacuum swing adsorption

open access: yes, 2021
This paper focuses on identifying the cost limits of two single-stage pressure-vacuum swing adsorption (PVSA) cycles for post-combustion CO2 capture if the ``ideal\u27\u27 zero-cost adsorbent can be discovered.

CO2 capture by vacuum swing adsorption: role of multiple pressure equalization steps [PDF]

open access: yesAdsorption, 2015
The performance of a 4-bed/16-step vacuum swing adsorption cycle containing three pressure equalization (PE) steps has been analysed in order to understand the role played by the multiple PE steps in the process performance. The cycle was designed for CO2 capture from a feed gas mixture of 15 %CO2/85 %N2, with zeolite ×13 adsorbent from UOP (PSO2HP ...

Studies of adsorbents and pressure/vacuum swing adsorption for co2 capture

open access: yes, 2015
The capture of carbon dioxide via Pressure/Vacuum Swing Adsorption (PSA/VPSA) has been examined experimentally and mathematically. The adopted method was a two bed/four step process, known as the Skarstrom Cycle. Pelletised and calcined SBA-15 powder has been modified with a monoamine, a diamine and a triamine and has been tested in a PSA configuration.

Two-Stage Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption Using AgLiLSX Zeolite for Producing 99.5+% Oxygen from Air

open access: yes, 2016
Oxygen concentrations above 99.5% are required for several applications, mainly in the medical and aerospacefields. Two-stage pressure swing adsorption (PSA) processes, combining kinetic separation with equilibrium separation, havebeen developed for ...
