Soil Microbial Degradation of Vacuum Residue
Petroleum Science and Technology, 2012Abstract The effect of microbial consortia on the alteration of petroleum residual structure and portions was studied, which can propose an alternative or complementary method for stringent upgrading heavy crude oil methods, which consist of heavy and complex hydrocarbons.

Hydroconversion kinetics of Marlim vacuum residue
Catalysis Today, 2005Abstract A kinetic model was obtained for the Marlim crude vacuum residue (VR) hydroconversion. Marlim VR mixed with FCC decant oil in an 80%/20% weight basis was put in contact with a commercial NiMo on γ-alumina catalyst in a stirred batch reactor. Several temperatures and oil/catalyst ratios were used over different times (0–240 min), at a 110 bar

Residual vacuum in evacuated solar collectors
Vacuum, 1987Abstract This work studies the residual vacuum and the gases desorbed within an evacuated solar collector after several working cycles at a solar station. The residual gases are also studied as a function of continuous pumping action.

COMPOSITIONAL ANALYSIS OF A VACUUM RESIDUE
Fuel Science and Technology International, 1994ABSTRACT A sample of vacuum residue (VR) was evaluated for its physical and chemical properties. The VR was separated into sixteen fractions according to molecular size distribution on preparative gel permeation chromatography (GPC) columns. Elemental analysis including heteroatoms (N, S) and metal (Ni, V) was carried out on fractions 1 through 9 ...

Catalytic hydroconversion of dagang vacuum residue
2011 International Conference on Remote Sensing, Environment and Transportation Engineering, 2011The petroleum ether-insoluble fraction of Dagang vacuum residue (DVR-PEIF) was subject to catalytic hydrogenation in the presence of activated carbon (AC) under initial hydrogen pressure of 5 MPa at 300 °C. Most of compounds detected with GC/MS in the PE-soluble fraction of products from DVR-PEIF are aliphatic species, including normal chain alkanes ...

Hydrogen donor visbreaking of Venezuelan vacuum residue
Journal of Fuel Chemistry and Technology, 2012Abstract Hydrogen donor visbreaking and conventional visbreaking processes of vacuum residue of Venezuelan synthetic crude oil were investigated in an autoclave. Phase changes of the two reaction systems were observed by a microscope during the thermal conversion.

Hydrocracking of vacuum residue by homogeneous catalysis
Fuel, 2014Abstract The heterogeneous catalytic hydrocracking process of residues convert heavy hydrocarbons, including asphaltenes into light distillates, removes sulfur and nitrogen, saturates aromatics and olefins and retains heavy metals (Ni, V, Fe, Cu, etc.).

Quantitative analysis of vacuum residue in heavy oils using vacuum thermogravimetry.
Journal of The Japan Petroleum Institute,

Solubility Modeling of Athabasca Vacuum Residue
2010The solubility parameters for ten fractions of Athabasca vacuum residue were calculated from molecular representations via group additivity methods. Two methods were used; Marrero-Gani and Fedors. The calculated parameters were compared between the fractions for consistency, and also compared with other literature sources.
