New catalyst for hydrocracking of vacuum residue
Applied Catalysis, 1989Abstract Catalytic hydrocracking using five mineral clay catalysts and five fluid catalytic cracking catalysts was performed in an autoclave. Mineral clay catalysts have higher mid-distillate yields and lower coke plus gum (coke precursor) yields than fluid cracking catalysts.

Rapid hydrocarbon type separation of vacuum residues
Fresenius' Zeitschrift für analytische Chemie, 1988A simple and fast column chromatographic procedure for the separation of vacuum residues into saturates, mono-, di-, polyaromatics and polars has been standardized using silica-alumina-bauxite adsorbents and gradient elution with n-pentane, benzene, and methanol. The cut points have been monitored employing ultraviolet and infrared spectroscopy.

SOLVENT DEMETALLIZATION OF ATMOSPHERIC AND VACUUM RESIDUES
Petroleum Science and Technology, 1999Abstract The effectiveness of various solvents for the removal of heavy metals, particularly vanadium and nickel via the removal of asphaltene from atmospheric and vacuum petroleum residues are presented The solvent deasphalting was carried out at 29§C The solvents used in this investigation were pentane, hexane, heptane, petroleum ether, ethyl acetate

UPGRADING OF PETROLEUM RESIDUES BY VACUUM PYROLYSIS
Fuel Science and Technology International, 1991ABSTRACT Vacuum pyrolysis of petroleum residues which are classified as hazardous materials was performed in a batch reactor and enabled us to separate an upgraded oil from water and residual solids. Conversion of petroleum wastes to reusable oils reached 85% on an organic basis.

Commercial experience in vacuum residue hydrodesulfurization
1996Abstract Mizushima Oil Refinery of Japan Energy Corporation has succeeded in a high conversion operation ofvacuum residue in the residue hydrodesulfurization unit equipped with the fixed bed reactors. To complete a sixmonth cycle operation, hot spot occurrence, pressure-drop build-up, and catalyst deactivation had been the most important subjects to ...

Solvation of Ratawi Asphaltenes in Vacuum Residue
1994Analyses of small angle X-ray scattering data, and the shear rheology of natural and synthetic Ratawi vacuum residue indicates that Ratawi asphaltenes(heptane insolubles) are polydispersed spheres solvated by the nonasphaltene fluid at 93 °C. The Pal-Rhodes equation attributes the non-linear dependence of the relative viscosity on asphaltene ...

Residual atmosphere in vacuum fluorescent displays
2017This paper is devoted to problems of gassing in vacuum fluorescent displays (VFD). Technique of qualitative and quantitative analysis of residual atmosphere in VFDs is presented. Also, dynamics of residual gas pressure under different modes of VFD operation is considered.
