Effective Lagrangian in nonlinear electrodynamics and its properties of causality and unitarity

open access: yes, 2011
In nonlinear electrodynamics, by implementing the causality principle as the requirement that the group velocity of elementary excitations over a background field should not exceed the speed of light in the vacuum and the unitarity principle as the ...

Renormalons Beyond One-Loop [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Higher order renormalons beyond the chain of one-loop bubbles are discussed. A perturbation method for the infrared renormalon residue is found. The large order behavior of the current-current correlation function due to the first infrared renormalon is ...

Influence of the isomeric composition of the acceptor on the performance of organic bulk heterojunction P3HT:bis-PCBM solar cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We synthesized three isomeric subpopulations of bisadduct analogues of [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (bis-PCBM) via tether-directed control.

Pyrolysis of Coal Liquefaction Vacuum Residue.

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Institute of Energy, 1993
In order to improve the pyrolysis efficiency in utilization of a coal liquefaction vacuum residue (CLVR) from the NEDOL process, the characteristic of the CLVR and the conditions of its pyrolysis and required apparatus were experimentally studies.Concerning the characteristics, it was clarified that the amount of volatile matter of CLVR is closely ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Reinforcement effects and mechanisms of vacuum preloading combined with alkaline residue treatment on dredging sludge

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
The vacuum preloading technology is widely used in the treatment of large-area silt foundations formed by dredging. In order to improve the traditional vacuum preloading reinforcement effects, a method of vacuum preloading combined with alkali residue ...

Residual Gases in Metal Vacuum System

open access: yesSHINKU, 1962
Mass spectrometrical investigation of residual gases in a stainless steel enveloped mass spectrometer, evacuated with a titaniumgetter ion pump, was carried out. Partial pressure of nitrogen of 10-13 mmHg could be measured by means of a secondary electron multiplier which served as an ion detector of the mass spectrometer.
