Engineered surface strategies to manage dental implant‐related infections

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract When exposed to the oral environment, dental implants, like natural surfaces, become substrates for microbial adhesion and accumulation, often leading to implant‐related infections—one of the main causes of implant failure. These failures impose significant costs on patients, clinicians, and healthcare systems.

Toward an urban soil health index: Emerging indicators for exposure, function, and resilience

open access: yesAgricultural &Environmental Letters, Volume 11, Issue 2, December 2026.
Abstract Urban soils are among the most dynamic and human‐impacted soil systems, yet most soil health frameworks remain rooted in agricultural assumptions, capturing fertility and structure while missing urban‐specific concerns: contaminant exposure, extreme heterogeneity, thermal stress, and degraded ecosystem services.

Slow‐release peat‐urea fertilizer increased sweet corn yield and nitrogen use efficiency compared to urea

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 4, December 2026.
Abstract Nitrogen (N) use efficiency of urea is often low, resulting in inefficient N utilization. Again, peat, a high organic carbon (OC)‐containing soil, is considered a problematic soil. However, enriching peat with urea may release fertilizer N slowly, and its application to agricultural soil can sequester OC in the soil.

Recent Advances in Pickering Emulsion Templated Phase Change Material Microcapsules: Design, Fabrication, and Multifunctional Applications

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 6, November 2026.
Fabrication process of phase change microcapsules using a Pickering emulsion template method and their subsequent applications. The increasing demand for efficient thermal energy storage systems has driven the development of phase change material microcapsules (PCMMs), which provide high energy‐storage density, reversible phase change, and reduced ...

Second‐Life Thermoset Manufacturing via Mild Solvolysis of Epoxy‐Matrix Composites and Wet‐Laid Mat Production

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue 19, Page 17222-17237, 10 October 2026.
From end‐of‐life pultruded CFRP profiles (1) to second life composites (7) through mild solvolysis (2,3), wet‐laid nonwoven mat fabrication (4), resin impregnation (5), and compression molding (6). ABSTRACT The growing use of carbon fiber–reinforced thermosets has led to the accumulation of significant composite waste, posing environmental and economic
