Akkermansia muciniphila‐Derived Outer Membrane Vesicles as a Novel Therapeutic Approach for Mastitis: Insights From In Vitro and Vivo Studies

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 13, 15 July 2025.
Akkermansia muciniphila (A. muciniphila) and its derived outer membrane vesicles (AOMVs) mitigate the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)‐induced production of pro‐inflammatory cytokines, including TNF‐α, IL‐6, and IL‐1β, in mammary cells through the inhibition of the TLR4/NF_κB signaling pathway. ABSTRACT Mastitis is a major disease affecting the dairy industry.

Unlocking the potential of tumor‐derived DNA in urine for cancer detection: methodological challenges and opportunities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 19, Issue 7, Page 1918-1934, July 2025.
Urine is a rich source of biomarkers for cancer detection. Tumor‐derived material is released into the bloodstream and transported to the urine. Urine can easily be collected from individuals, allowing non‐invasive cancer detection. This review discusses the rationale behind urine‐based cancer detection and its potential for cancer diagnostics ...

Late anastomotic complication after laparoscopic surgery for clinical stage I low rectal cancers located within 5 cm of the anal verge: Sub‐analysis of the ultimate trial

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 9, Issue 4, Page 719-729, July 2025.
Anastomotic stenosis and late fistula formation frequently emerge as secondary consequences of early AL, and represent significant complications linked to permanent stoma creation, often proving resistant to treatment. Intestinal prolapse is a characteristic anastomotic complication of ISR that can be caused by excessive intestinal mobilization.
