High diversity of Phytophthora species in natural ecosystems and nurseries of Portugal: Detrimental side effect of plant introductions from the age of discovery to modern globalization

High diversity of known and new, mostly exotic Phytophthora species in forests, nurseries and streams across Portugal and numerous associated forest tree declines are a consequence of long‐term plant introductions and outplantings.
