Purpose The efficacy of medial pivot total knee arthroplasty (MP TKA) in treating valgus knees that may cause medial instability is unknown. The purpose of this study was to investigate the in vivo kinematics of MP TKA for the valgus knees and compare ...

Under the surveillance of dual fluoroscopic imaging system (DFIS), the MCKOA side tibia showed more flexed and varus rotations and more posterior, lateral, proximal translations than its native side during daily extension, consistent with the extra medial shifts of contact patterns on MCKOA side tibial plateau.

The influence of valgus heel position on foot loading in a child's gait
BACKGROUND: Flat foot is a typical clinical sign in childhood, expressed as valgus positioning of the heel during vertical foot loading. This may lead to medial deviation of the foot axis and cause overloading of some foot areas.

Abstract Objective The aim of this study was to ascertain whether a prosthetic meniscus adapts pressures to native tibial contact pressures in a canine stifle joint after total medial meniscectomy. Study design Ex vivo biomechanical experimental study. Sample population Seven cadaveric hindlimbs of seven large‐breed dogs.

ABSTRACT Background Flatfoot alters lower limb biomechanics and can negatively affect interjoint coordination during gait. Antipronation insoles are commonly prescribed to correct excessive foot pronation, yet their long‐term effects on interjoint coordination remain unclear.

Improved clinical outcomes when maintaining a neutral joint line obliquity at high tibial osteotomy and subsequent total knee arthroplasty. [PDF]
Abstract Purpose The primary aim was to study the impact of joint line obliquity (JLO) on clinical outcomes and survivorship in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) after a previous high tibial osteotomy (HTO). The secondary aim was to study how maintaining neutral JLO at both HTO and TKA affected clinical outcomes of TKA.

ABSTRACT Introduction Foot progression angle affects gait and lowerlimb alignment. Altered angles may increase knee and ankle loading and produce tissue loading patterns previously linked to musculoskeletal injury. This study investigates how different foot progression angles modify knee and ankle biomechanics in young adults with flexible flatfoot ...

De Novo Variants in PPFIA2 in Individuals With Neurodevelopmental Disorders
ABSTRACT Liprin‐α2, encoded by PPFIA2, belongs to the family of Liprin‐α proteins which constitute major synaptic scaffolds participating in the assembly and maturation of synapses. Heterozygous de novo variants in PPFIA2 were identified by exome or genome sequencing in two unrelated individuals with a neurodevelopmental disorder.

Distal femoral varus deformity becomes a cause of undercorrection in open wedge high tibial osteotomy. [PDF]
Abstract Purpose To evaluate whether a high lateral distal femoral angle (LDFA) contributes to undercorrection of lower‐limb alignment following medial open wedge high tibial osteotomy (MOWHTO), and to determine the LDFA threshold above which tibial correction alone may be insufficient.
