Does Cozen's phenomenon warrant surgical intervention?
Purpose Proximal tibial metaphyseal fractures can be complicated by a late valgus deformity, referred to as Cozen's phenomenon. We studied children with such fractures to determine whether the child's age at the time of injury influenced the development ...

Abstract Purpose Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) restores knee function, but correction of coronal plane deformities may alter the biomechanics of adjacent joints. This study aimed to determine whether changes in knee alignment after TKA have clinical or radiological effects on the ankle.

Standardising the clinical assessment of coronal knee laxity [PDF]
Clinical laxity tests are used for assessing knee ligament injuries and for soft tissue balancing in total knee arthroplasty. This study reports the development and validation of a quantitative technique of assessing collateral knee laxity through ...

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to gain information on the prevalence and manifestation of hallux valgus and associated foot pathology in ancient Egyptian mummies. Additionally, we investigated possible indicators of postmortem deformation of the feet during mummification. For this study, 34 mummies that had undergone whole body computed tomography (

Corrección del ángulo intermetatarsiano del Hallux Valgus mediante anclajes de endo-botones de alambre [PDF]
The 1st-2nd intermetatarsal angular component of the hallux valgus deformity can be corrected by an osteotomysparing technique using ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) braided suture (Fiberwire, Arthrex, Naples, FL) attached endo-buttons ...

Surgical management of carpus valgus deformity caused by persistent ulna in three large breed foals
Summary This case series describes the occurrence of persistent ulnar remnants in three large breed foals presented with bilateral carpus valgus deformity. Distal ulnar ossification was diagnosed based on lateromedial radiographic projections. Treatment included distal ulna ostectomy in conjunction with transphyseal screw placement or periosteal ...

Summary Carpal valgus deformities remain a common challenge in foals, yet their aetiology is often multifactorial and rarely attributable to a single anatomical anomaly. Recent case reports by Müller et al. (2025) suggest that rudimentary ulnas may play a causative role in these deformities, but such claims warrant closer scrutiny.

An unusual presentation of osteochondrosis in the elbows and tarsi of a Friesian colt
Summary This case report describes the clinical, diagnostic imaging results and post‐mortem findings in a foal that underwent reassessment following surgical management of angular limb deformities (ALD) and acute onset of gait abnormalities. Upon presentation, the foal showed an abnormal stiff gait characterised by bilateral medial limb collapse during
