Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A Synthesis of Algorithms for Multi-Jurisdiction Research in Canada.
Objectives Validation of algorithms to identify health conditions (e.g., diabetes) or service use (e.g., high-cost users) in administrative data is time-consuming and expensive. Many algorithms are only assessed in a single jurisdiction, which may limit

Abstract Background IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is the most common primary glomerulonephritis worldwide. Approximately 30–40% of patients progress to end-stage renal disease over 20 years. Mucosal immune dysregulation in nasal-associated lymphoid tissue (NALT) may be involved in the pathogenesis of IgAN.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
