Improving dose delivery in non‐coplanar cranial SRS: Stereoscopic x‐ray‐guided mitigation of table walkout errors

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Purpose Linear accelerator (LINAC)‐based single‐isocenter multi‐target (SIMT) treatment has streamlined the cranial stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) workflow. Though efficient, SIMT delivery adds additional challenges that should be considered, including increased sensitivity to rotational errors for off‐isocenter targets.

Log file‐based quality assurance method for respiratory gating system

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background As medical linear accelerator technology advances, enabling higher dose rate deliveries, hypofractionation regimens has increased. This necessitates respiratory gating systems that synchronize radiation delivery with tumor position, requiring simple rigorous quality assurance (QA) to ensure treatment accuracy and patient safety ...

Internal Consistency and Confirmatory Factor Analysis of Persian version Circadian Type Inventory in Iranian Day Worker and Shift Worker , 2011-2012.

open access: yesSalāmat-i kār-i Īrān, 2013
Background and aims : "circadian" is the changes of behavioral and metabolic activity during day and night in living organisms. The human body has circadian rhythm too, which is repeated every 24 hours.

Fractional Payment Transactions: Executing Payment Transactions in Parallel with Less than f+1 Validations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We consider the problem of supporting payment transactions in an asynchronous system in which up to $f$ validators are subject to Byzantine failures under the control of an adaptive adversary. It was shown that, in the case of a single owner, this problem can be solved without consensus by using byzantine quorum systems (requiring a quorum of $2f+1 ...

Machine stability and dosimetry for ultra‐high dose rate FLASH radiotherapy human clinical protocol

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The FLASH effect, induced by ultra‐high dose rate (UHDR) irradiations, offers the potential to spare normal tissue while effectively treating tumors. It is important to achieve precise and accurate dose delivery and to establish reliable detector systems, particularly for clinical trials needed to help the clinical transfer of FLASH‐

Accounting for TLD response to CBCT protocols in external beam radiotherapy dose monitoring

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose LiF thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs) are commonly used in radiation therapy to verify the delivered dose. Examples include dose verification for complicated treatment setups or cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). TLDs may be present for both the pre‐treatment imaging kilovoltage (kV) beam and the megavoltage (MV ...

The Influence of Web- Versus Paper-based Formats on the Assessment of Tobacco Dependence: Evaluating the Measurement Invariance of the Dimensions of Tobacco Dependence Scale

open access: yesSubstance Abuse: Research and Treatment, 2009
The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of mode of administration (internet-based, web survey format versus pencil-and-paper format) on responses to the Dimensions of Tobacco Dependence Scale (DTDS).
