A Novel Cluster Validity Index Based on Local Cores
IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, 2019It is critical to evaluate the quality of clusters for most cluster analysis. A number of cluster validity indexes have been proposed, such as the Silhouette and Davies–Bouldin indexes.

Some new indexes of cluster validity
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 1998We review two clustering algorithms (hard c-means and single linkage) and three indexes of crisp cluster validity (Hubert's statistics, the Davies-Bouldin index, and Dunn's index). We illustrate two deficiencies of Dunn's index which make it overly sensitive to noisy clusters and propose several generalizations of it that are not as brittle to outliers

Validation of the Holyoake Codependency Index
The Journal of Psychology, 2005Some clinicians working with families with alcohol or other drug problems continue to use the codependency model to guide their practice despite the limited empirical support for this approach. Research into codependency has been hampered by the lack of psychometrically sound instruments. The Holyoake Codependency Index (HCI; G. E. Dear & C. M. Roberts,
