Validation of the Prosthetic Esthetic Index
Clinical Oral Investigations, 2013In order to diagnose impaired esthetics and evaluate treatments for these, it is crucial to evaluate all aspects of oral and prosthetic esthetics. No professionally administered index currently exists that sufficiently encompasses comprehensive prosthetic esthetics.

Analysis of Streaming Clustering Using an Incremental Validity Index
IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems, 2018In this paper, we study the internal incremental Davies-Bouldin (iiDB) cluster validity index in the context of streaming data analysis. We extend the original index to a more general version parameterized by the exponent of membership weights.

A new improved cluster validity indexing technique: harnessed from Goodman-Kruskal validity index
International Journal of Information and Communication Technology, 2015The true potential of clustering techniques is not harnessed optimally because of several reasons. Clustering is implemented either on the preclassified datasets or if implemented on unclassified datasets, it remains unacceptable because its validity cannot be established. Cluster validity techniques come to rescue in the latter cases. Several internal

To support temporal operators and to increase the efficiency of temporal queries, indexing based on temporal attributes is required. We consider the problem of indexing the temporal dimension in valid time databases where the temporal information of data objects are represented as valid time intervals that need to be managed dynamically by an efficient

Validation of a Caregiver Strain Index
Journal of Gerontology, 1983This paper outlines the development of a Caregiver Strain Index (CSI) with a sample of spouses, family, friends, and neighbors, aged 22 to 83, who provided varying degrees of care to recently hospitalized hip surgery and heart patients aged 65 and over. Internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha) for the 13-item CSI on 81 cases was .86.

An evolutionary cluster validation index
2008 3rd International Conference on Bio-Inspired Computing: Theories and Applications, 2008This paper presents a new evolutionary method for the cluster validation index (CVI), namely eCVI. The proposed method learns CVI from the generated training data set using the genetic programming (GP), and then outputs the optimal number of clusters after taking parameters of a test data set into the learned CVI. Each chromosome encodes a possible CVI

A multicenter validation of the prehospital index
Annals of Emergency Medicine, 1987The prehospital index (PHI) is a triage-oriented trauma severity scoring system. This prospective multicenter validation of the PHI was undertaken in response to a favorable pilot study. We applied the PHI to 3,581 patients from 14 different institutions during the period from January 1985 to February 1986.

The Injury Distress Index: Development and Validation
Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, 2008To develop and validate a new measurement tool designed to assess self-reported distress responses after traumatic physical injury.A mixed-methods study design was used. Development of the Injury Distress Index (IDI) included input from patients and experts and a comprehensive literature review.

Validation of the Acute Heart Failure Index
Annals of Emergency Medicine, 2008Validate a clinical prediction rule prognostic of short-term fatal and inpatient nonfatal outcomes for heart failure patients admitted through the emergency department. We retrospectively studied a random cohort of 8,384 adult patients admitted to Pennsylvania hospitals in 2003 and 2004 with a diagnosis of heart failure as defined by primary discharge ...
