When an open pit mine is about to close or has recently closed, companies promote post‐mining strategies framed as ecosystem restoration and social compensation.

Polyethyleneimine‐Modified Biosorbent Based on Banana Pseudostem Biomass for Environmental Remediation and Food Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, Volume 9, Issue 12, December 2025.
Biosorbents derived from banana pseudostem are functionalized with polyethyleneimine, with or without glutaraldehyde, and evaluated for dye removal and solid‐phase extraction. The materials exhibit high adsorption capacities and broad pH applicability in dye removal, while computational studies reveal amino groups as key interaction sites.
