MATRIX VALUATION PSEUDO RING (MVPR) AND AN EXTENSION THEOREM OF MATRIX VALUATION [PDF]
Let R be a ring and V be a matrix valuation on R. It is shown that, there exists a correspondence between matrix valuations on R and some special subsets ?(MVPR) of the set of all square matrices over R, analogous to the correspondence between invariant ...

Uniform definability of henselian valuation rings in the Macintyre language [PDF]
We discuss definability of henselian valuation rings in the Macintyre language L Mac , the language of rings expanded by n th power predicates. In particular, we show that henselian valuation rings with finite or Hilbertian residue field are uniformly ∃ ‐

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

INITIAL RAMIFICATION INDEX OF NONINVARIANT VALUATIONS ON FINITE DIMENSIONAL DIVISION ALGEBRAS [PDF]
Let D be a division ring with centre K and dim, D< ? a valuation on K and v a noninvariant extension of ? to D. We define the initial ramfication index of v over ?, ?(v/ ?) .Let A be a valuation ring of o with maximal ideal m, and v , v ,…, v ...

Insights Into Principal Ideal Rings and Their Hereditary Properties
In this paper, we investigate principal ideal rings (PIRs). Specifically, we prove that every local PIR is either a 2-strongly Gorenstein semisimple ring or a discrete valuation ring, which leads to the establishment of the Gorenstein hereditary property

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Valuation Rings in Ore Extensions
By a valued skew field the authors understand a pair \((K,V)\) consisting of a skew field \(K\) and a total subring \(V\) of \(K\), i.e. a subring such that \(a\not\in K\setminus V\) implies \(a^{-1}\in V\) (this is called a valuation ring by the authors but it seems better to reserve that term for total subrings admitting all inner automorphisms ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Quotient Sheaves and Valuation Rings [PDF]
In this paper a construction of a quotient sheaf of a sheaf of rings is given. This construction is analogous to the Utumi ring of quotients of a ring. For a valuation ring V , a sheaf of rings corresponding to V is introduced and its quotient sheaf is ...
