To address research gaps, this study develops a conceptual framework that integrates the personal values of Schwartz (1992) and the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and aims to examine tourists’ visiting intentions towards eco-friendly destinations.

Public Values Theory: What Is Missing?
American Review of Public Administration, 2018Scholars of public value and public values have sought to develop theory by defining, identifying, classifying, and measuring the values, some of which articulate theoretical problems and prescriptions such as values pluralism and the scope of the ...

Guided by Expectancy Value Theory (EVT), we investigated the association of students’ engineering self-efficacy and subjective task values (attainment, intrinsic, utility and cost) to four achievement-related behaviours: choice to take more engineering ...

Economists have a well-developed theory of value but the theory of why people hold the values they do is rudimentary at best. In spite of the fact that it is common to argue that values are important, most work on values is normative and the positive theory of values is relatively under- developed.

THE THEORY OF VALUE RECONSIDERED
Australian Economic Papers, 1969This chapter discusses the theory of value reconsidered. Prices are the surface phenomena in economic life. Every school of economic theory was obliged to give some account of the determination of prices, but each school was concerned with wider questions; a theory of value was incidental to a general view of how the economic system operates. The price

A Theory of the Value of Grandchildren
Rationality and Society, 2008As innovations in medical technology extend average longevity, grandparents become increasingly present during the lives of their grandchildren. We propose a theory that seeks to explain differential investment in grandchildren. The theory relies on a fundamental assumption of uncertainty reduction to explain why grandparents in post-industrial ...

A new model to evaluate dependencies in data mining problems is presented and discussed. The well-known concept of the association rule is replaced by the new definition of dependence value, which is a single real number uniquely associated with a given itemset.

Theories of Interregional Trade and Theories of Value [PDF]
In this paper the Heckscher-Ohlin-Samuelson trade theory, Emmanuel's theory of unequal exchange, and a trade theory based upon the work of Piero Sraffa are examined within the context of interregional trade. It is argued that a suitable criterion for judging between these three trade theories is their underlying value theory.

GANZSTELLENSÄTZE IN THEORIES OF VALUED FIELDS
Journal of Mathematical Logic, 2008The purpose of this paper is to study an analogue of Hilbert's seventeenth problem for functions over a valued field which are integral definite on some definable set; that is, that map the given set into the valuation ring. We use model theory to exhibit a uniform method, on various theories of valued fields, for deriving an algebraic ...
