Cavity control of Excitons in two dimensional Materials

open access: yes, 2019
We propose a robust and efficient way of controlling the optical spectra of two-dimensional materials and van der Waals heterostructures by quantum cavity embedding.

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Cosmological FLRW phase transitions and micro-structure under Kaniadakis statistics

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
This article studies the thermodynamics phase transitions and critical phenomena of an FLRW cosmological model under truncated Kaniadakis's statistics. The EoS is derived from the corrected Friedmann field equations and the thermodynamics unified first ...

Thermodynamic Theory of Phase Transitions in Driven Lattice Gases

open access: yes, 2011
We formulate an approximate thermodynamic theory of the phase transition in driven lattice gases with attractive nearest-neighbor interactions. We construct the van der Waals equation of state for a driven system where a nonequilibrium chemical potential

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.

A thermodynamic approach for correlating the solubility of drug compounds in supercritical CO2 based on Peng-Robinson and Soave-Redlich-Kwong equations of state coupled with van der Waals mixing rules [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2019
In the present study, the effect of equations of state and mixing rules in a thermodynamic approach has been investigated for the correlation of the solubility of four new solid pharmaceutical compounds, namely, benzamide, cetirizine, metaxalone and ...

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...

Thermodynamics of Natural Pigment-Doped Ethanol under Monochromatic Laser Irradiation

open access: yesReviews on Advanced Materials Science, 2018
A laser beam heats a mixture of ethanol and anthocyanins producing the effect of a reciprocating machine. This behaviour is analyzed in terms of the stable, metastable and unstable states of Landau and Lifschitz.

Hadron Resonance Gas Model with Induced Surface Tension

open access: yes, 2017
Here we present a physically transparent generalization of the multicomponent Van der Waals equation of state in the grand canonical ensemble. For the one-component case the third and fourth virial coefficients are calculated analytically.
