A double exponential potential for van der Waals interaction. [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Adv, 2019
Van der Waals (vdw) interaction is an important force between atoms and molecules. Many potential functions have been proposed to model vdw interaction such as the Lennard-Jones (L-J) potential. To overcome certain drawbacks of existing function forms, this work proposes a double exponential (DE) potential that contains a repulsive exponential term and

An Integral Method for Natural Convection of Van Der Waals Gases over a Vertical Plate

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
This paper focuses on a study of natural convection in a van der Waals gas over a vertical heated plate. In this paper, for the first time, an approximate analytical solution of the problem was obtained using an integral method for momentum and energy ...

An easy method to calculate van der Waals interaction between clay plate and spherical particle

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2021
The interaction between clay plate and non-plastic silty particle is one of the key factors determining the mechanical behavior of silty clay and clayey silt, which form a major category of soil in geotechnical engineering. The van der Waals force is the

Magnetically brightened dark electron-phonon bound states in a van der Waals antiferromagnet

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Van der Waals materials can exhibit strong coupling between the lattice and other degrees of freedom. Here, Ergeçen et al reveal the presence of bound states emerging from the strong interaction between the lattice vibrations and d-orbitals in the van ...

Van der Waals Interactions and Exciton Condensation [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1971
It is shown that the van der Waals interaction can lead at low temperatures to a condensed state of excitons with properties in qualitative agreement with the observations of exciton droplets. Our calculation gives a binding energy of the correct sign and magnitude for the exciton condensate.

Determination of the Second Virial Coefficient for Binary Mixtures of Ar with CH4 and CO using Van der Waals and Dieterici Models [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2019
In this paper, we calculate the second virial coefficient for binary mixtures of Ar with CH4 and CO in order to evaluate the performance of equations of state (EOSs).

Repulsive interactions in the microstructure of regular Hayward black hole in anti-de Sitter spacetime

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2020
We study the interaction between the microstructures of Hayward-AdS black hole using Ruppeiner geometry. Our investigation shows that the dominant interaction between the black hole molecules is attractive in most part of the parametric space of ...

Finite-Size Effects of Casimir–van der Waals Forces in the Self-Assembly of Nanoparticles

open access: yesPhysics, 2023
Casimir–van der Waals forces are important in the self-assembly processes of nanoparticles. In this paper, using a hybrid approach based on Lifshitz theory of Casimir–van der Waals interactions and corrections due to the shape of the nanoparticles, it is
