Fluorination of Vanadium Oxides
Synthesis and Reactivity in Inorganic and Metal-Organic Chemistry, 1991Abstract The reactions of ammonium hydrogen fluoride with oxides of vanadium in its three different oxidation states are discussed. With vanadium in its +5 and +4 states, the products are oxofluoro compounds while with +3 state, the product is a hexafluoro compound.

An investigation in the ternary system FeVO has been made of the chemical, crystallographic, and magnetic properties of the corundum FeVO3, and the spinels FeV2O4 and Fe2VO4· FeVO3 has been reported in the literature as Fe2+V4+O3 and antiferromagnetic at room temperature. However, the study reported in this paper shows that these results are incorrect.

MECKE and Guillery1 identified only four band heads given in Kayser's “Handbuch der Spectro-scopie” (6, 786, 1912) as due to the oxide of vanadium and assigned them their vibration quantum numbers. These are the (1,0), (0,0), (0,1) and (0,2) band heads. Prof.

Kinetics of ethane oxidation on vanadium oxide
The Journal of Physical Chemistry, 1990The oxidation of ethane with molecular oxygen on a well-characterized V{sub 2}O{sub 5}/SiO{sub 2} catalyst produced ethylene and acetaldehyde as the only selective oxidation products. The effects of partial pressures of ethane, oxygen, and water were investigated at 841 K, and it was found that only water had a strong influence on the overall ...

Oxidation of Vanadium in the Liquid Oxide Region
Nature, 1966AT temperatures above the melting point of vanadium pentoxide (675° C), the rate of oxidation of vanadium is extremely rapid and the kinetics have been described1 in terms of the following equation where w is the weight of oxygen absorbed per square cm, t is the duration of ...

Oxidation of sulfites on vanadium-molybdenum oxides
Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2013The low temperature emission of 1O2 singlet oxygen from xV2O5 · yMoO3 binary oxides is investigated by means of flash desorption. Conditions for the generation of 1O2 on their surfaces are determined, along with the correlation between the amount of 1O2 and the degree of NaHSO3 conversion in the oxidation reaction.

The effect of vanadium oxide loading on the selective methane oxidation over V[sub 2]O[sub 5]/SiO[sub 2] catalysts was investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) were used to characterize these catalysts. The results of XRD and TPR show that the catalysts with 1-8 wt% vanadium oxide loadings had a uniform structure

Lithium-niobium vanadium oxide and lithium-tantalum vanadium oxide, MVO5, bronzes
Chemistry of Materials, 1992Mixed oxides NbVO5 and TaVO5 have been synthesized by a sol-gel procedure. Both compounds are isostructural with the so-called "monophosphate tungsten bronzes" (MPTB, (PO2)4(WO3)2m, with m = 2). In such structures single MO4 tetrahedra (M = P, V), share corners with M′O6 octahedra (M′ = W, Ta, Nb) building pentagonal tunnels along the [010] direction ...

PHASE TRANSITIONS IN INSULATING VANADIUM OXIDE
Physical Phenomena at High Magnetic Fields IV, 2002The magnetic phase transition from the paramagnetic to antiferromagnetic state in insulating V2O3 shows some very interesting features. Not only is the magnetic order ng pattern anomalous, but the magnetic transition shows other surprises: I) the magnetic and orbital ordering occur at the same transition temperature; II) the transition is strongly ...
