Large Transverse Thermoelectric Effect in Weyl Semimetal TaIrTe4 Engineered for Photodetection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This experimental work shows that the anomalous scanning photocurrent response patterns of the Weyl semimetal TaIrTe4${\rm TaIrTe}_4$ under visible and long‐wave infrared illumination are due to a large transverse thermoelectric response of the material.

All spacetimes with vanishing curvature invariants

open access: yes, 2002
All Lorentzian spacetimes with vanishing invariants constructed from the Riemann tensor and its covariant derivatives are determined. A subclass of the Kundt spacetimes results and we display the corresponding metrics in local coordinates. Some potential

Self‐Adaptive Anhydrous Passivation Mitigates Open‐Circuit Voltage Loss in Pb‐Sn Mixed Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this report, a self‐adaptive anhydrous passivation strategy is introduced by incorporating trimellitic anhydride (TMAH) into the perovskite precursor. In situ hydrolysis of TMAH yields trimellitic acid (TMA); ‐C═O/‐COO− groups of TMAH/TMA form a chelate with undercoordinated Pb2+/Sn2+, regulate nucleation, promote (100) orientation, passivate ...

Vanishing of Drude Weight in Interacting Fermions on Zd with Quasi-Periodic Disorder [Vanishing of Drude Weight in Interacting Fermions on Z(d) with Quasi-Periodic Disorder]

open access: yes, 2022
We consider a fermionic many body system in Z(d) with a short range interaction and quasi-periodic disorder. In the strong disorder regime and assuming a Diophantine condition on the frequencies and on the chemical potential, we prove at T = 0 the ...

Gravitational effects on vanishing Higgs potential at the Planck scale [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2015
We investigate gravitational effects on the so-called multiple point criticality principle (MPCP) at the Planck scale. The MPCP requires two degenerate vacua, whose necessary conditions are expressed by vanishing Higgs quartic coupling $λ(M_{\rm Pl})=0$ and vanishing its $β$ function $β_λ(M_{\rm Pl})=0$.

Tailoring Li‐ion Storage and Transport in Two‐Dimensional Conjugated Metal‐Organic Frameworks via Precise Nitrogen Incorporation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two nitrogen‐doped 2D conjugated metal‐organic frameworks (2D c‐MOFs, namely Cu‐Nx‐OHBA, x = 2 or 4) are synthesized, featuring precise nitrogen incorporation via rational ligand design. The Cu‐Nx‐OHBA 2D c‐MOFs are largely tailorable by varying skeletal nitrogen density, with respect to electrical conductivity, Li‐storage capacitance, and Li‐transport

Asymptotically linear Schrödinger equation with potential vanishing at infinity

open access: yes, 2008
We are concerned with the existence of bound states and ground states of the following nonlinear Schrödinger equation(0.1){−Δu(x)+V(x)u(x)=K(x)f(u),x∈RN,u∈H1(RN),u(x)>0,N⩾3, where the potential V(x) may vanish at infinity, f(s) is asymptotically linear ...

Unraveling MXene Oxidation Mechanisms Under Realistic Gas Environments by In Situ Gas‐Cell TEM

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Real‐time visualization of MXene degradation reveals a fundamental oxidation mechanism under oxygen and moisture environments. Using in situ gas‐cell electron microscopy, this study demonstrates that oxygen degradation drives a thermodynamically controlled high‐temperature transformation into mixed rutile/anatase phases.

Remarks on a Class of Nonlinear Schrödinger Equations with Potential Vanishing at Infinity [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2013
Summary: We study the following nonlinear Schrödinger equation \(- \Delta u + V(x) u = K(x) f(u)\), \(x \in \mathbb{R}^N\), \(u \in H^1(\mathbb{R}^N)\), where the potential \(V(x)\) vanishes at infinity. Working in weighted Sobolev space, we obtain the ground states of problem \((\mathcal{P})\) under a Nahari type condition. Furthermore, if \(V(x), K(x)
