Understanding and Tuning Mobile Interfaces in Ferroelectric Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 Thin Films in Relation to Microstructure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectricity in thin HfO2‐based films offers great possibilities for next‐generation neuromorphic memory devices. There, the response to subcoercive voltage signals is driven by the movement of mobile interfaces and their interaction with crystal defects – a yet rather unexplored aspect, which we shed light on and gain new insights into the complex

Positive ground state solutions for quasicritical Klein-Gordon-Maxwell type systems with potential vanishing at infinity

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
This article concerns the Klein-Gordon-Maxwell type system when the nonlinearity has a quasicritical growth at infinity, involving zero mass potential, that is, $V(x)\to 0$, as $|x|\to\infty$.

Single‐Crystalline Lateral p‐SnS/n‐SnSe van der Waals Heterostructures by Vapor Transport Growth with In Situ Bi Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In‐situ doping during growth of SnSe and subsequent attachment of SnS produces high‐quality lateral pn‐heterojunctions between van der Waals semiconductors. Electron beam induced current measurements demonstrate electrically active pn‐junctions, paving the way for devices that harness charge separation at lateral interfaces in layered heterostructures.

Vanishing Friction: Progress toward Mechanistic Understanding and Potential Engineering Applications

open access: yesTribology Online
Friction and wear collectively account for nearly a quarter of the world’s energy consumption, resulting in over eight Gigatons of CO2 emissions annually.

Emergent gravity from vanishing energy-momentum tensor

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
A constraint of vanishing energy-momentum tensor is motivated by a variety of perspectives on quantum gravity. We demonstrate in a concrete example how this constraint leads to a metric-independent theory in which quantum gravity emerges as a ...

A reciprocal Wald theorem for varying gravitational function

open access: yes, 2003
We study when a cosmological constant is a natural issue if it is mimicked by the potential of a massive Hyperextended Scalar Tensor theory with a perfect fluid for Bianchi type I and V models.

Reprogramming Tumor Cell Death via Processing Natural Drug to Carbon Dots Overcomes Collagen Barrier and Activates Antitumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A traditional Chinese medicine‐derived carbon dots nanoplatform reprograms tumor cell death from apoptosis to necroptosis, dismantling therapy‐induced collagen barriers and promoting immunogenic death. pH‐responsive hydrogel assembled from carbon dots for localized delivery, this strategy suppresses primary tumors and metastasis, offering a new ...

Photoconductivity‐Driven Quantum Efficiency Gain in Inorganic Ruddlesden‐Popper Layered Cs2PbBr2I2 Perovskite Photodetector for Visible Light Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rational halogen mixing strategy was employed to shift the bandgap of Cs2PbBr2I2 from ultraviolet to visible region, enabling first realization of a visible‐light photodetector with this 2D layered Ruddlesden‐Popper perovskite material. Under illumination, light‐induced internal field forms and drives trap‐mediated persistent photoconductivity ...
