Controlling Growth High Uniformity Indium Selenide (In2Se3) Nanowires via the Rapid Thermal Annealing Process at Low Temperature

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2017
High uniformity Au-catalyzed indium selenide (In2Se3) nanowires are grown with the rapid thermal annealing (RTA) treatment via the vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) mechanism.

Solid–Liquid–Vapor Etching of Semiconductor Nanowires

open access: yes, 2015
The vapor–liquid–solid (VLS) mechanism enables the bottom-up, or additive, growth of semiconductor nanowires. Here, we demonstrate a reverse process, whereby catalyst atoms are selectively removed from the eutectic catalyst droplet.

Electrospun Wood‐Derived Biopolymers as Electrodes in Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospinning transforms wood‐derived cellulose and lignin into architecturally defined, binder‐free carbon electrodes with tuneable porosity and functionality. This review shows how fibre design enables decoupled charge and mass transport, enhancing performance across battery systems, while identifying key challenges in spinnability, scalability ...

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.

Strong Lead‐Free Bioinspired Piezoceramics for Durable Energy Transducers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We fabricated brick‐and‐mortar lead‐free piezoceramics with Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 monocrystal platelets as bricks and amorphous silica as mortar. The alignment of the bricks and the presence of the amorphous silica led to anisotropic residual stresses. These residual stresses increase the samples toughness, strength and durability while the brick alignment ...

Vapor-liquid-solid growth of Si nanowires: A kinetic analysis

open access: yes, 2012
A steady state kinetic model has been developed for the vapor-liquid-solid growth of Si whiskers or nanowires from liquid catalyst droplets. The steady state is defined as one in which the net injection rate of Si into the droplet is equal to the ...

Vapor–liquid–solid synthesis of Ag2Te using chemical vapor deposition method

open access: yesAPL Materials
Silver telluride, Ag2Te, has been selectively synthesized by conventional chemical vapor deposition (CVD) via the vapor–liquid–solid growth mechanism. The pre-deposited Ag film on the SiO2/Si substrate was chemically reacted with vaporized Te atoms and ...
