Semi-Analytical Model for Heat and Mass Transfer Evaluation of Vapor Bubbling

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Multi-stage refrigeration systems cover a wide range of possibilities and are diffusing more and more. The idea that inspired this work derived from the need to have a tool to model the energy behavior of the intercooler inside a multi-stage ...

On the direct evaluation of the equilibrium distribution of clusters by simulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
An expression is derived that relates the average population of a particular type of cluster in a metastable vapor phase of volume Vtot to the probability, estimated by simulation, of finding this cluster in a system of volume V taken inside Vtot, where ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Vaporizer Position

open access: yesVeterinary Clinics of North America: Small Animal Practice, 1992
The vaporizers that are positioned outside of the circle have known constant output concentrations and are not affected by positive pressure ventilation. The vaporizers that are positioned inside the circle system have unknown, variable output concentrations and are markedly affected by positive pressure ventilation.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Study made of resistance of stainless steels to zinc-vapor corrosion [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Study of the corrosion resistance of several stainless steels to zinc vapor revealed that some stainless steels could be employed for use in zinc processing equipment housings or vapor ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Study on water-vapor two-phase flow behavior in Venturi tube

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2018
The filtered venting system has the functions of preventing the overpressure breakage of a primary containment vessel of a reactor and reducing the release amount of the radioactive materials to the environment.
