Relation of Alpha Frequency to Amplitude Variability

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1968
Kleitman (4) has suggested that the frequency of the alpha EEG partern is related to level of consciousness. He presented studies which showed a decrease in alpha frequency during sensory isolation, an increase in alpha frequency in hyperthermia, a decrease in alpha frequency associated with hypothyroidism, and an association of alpha frequency and ...

Variable Amplitude Fatigue Life Estimation Models

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1982
<div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper reviews fatigue life estimation techniques. The methods are the result of many researchers and practicing engineers. No attempt is made to cite individual contributions. A bibilography of useful sources of information is included.</div>

Prediction uncertainties at variable amplitude fatigue

International Journal of Fatigue, 1997
Abstract Predictions of variable amplitude fatigue life suffer from uncertainties originating from different sources. In this paper, important sources are discussed and estimated, by means of a variable amplitude fatigue model, based on level crossing counts and a version of the Palmgren–Miner cumulative damage rule.

Cyclic plasticity and variable amplitude fatigue

International Journal of Fatigue, 2003
Load history effects are observed both in cyclic plasticity and during fatigue crack growth. History effects in cyclic plasticity of bulk material are inherited from material strain hardening (isotropic and kinematic hardening). Kinematic hardening is usually attributed to the development of plastic strain gradients inside the material.

Are resonance decay amplitudes Gaussian variables?

Zeitschrift fr Physik A Atoms and Nuclei, 1984
Higher moments of Gaussian statistical variables can be expressed in terms of second moments. Such relations can be experimentally tested on resonance decay amplitudes. In the present paper, the error of such a test is derived. The error is due to the finite numberN of resonances analyzed.

Methodology of Variable Amplitude Fatigue Tests

1989
Fatigue life prediction by experiment, that is variable amplitude testing, is becoming more and more widespread in industry. The many engineering decisions necessary before a useful variable amplitude test can be carried out are explained in detail, such as measurement of the stress time history in service which couting procedure to use and ...
